2026 Libra Season

There’s only one thing more precious than our time, and that’s who we spend it on. — Leo Christopher

The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in. —Morrie Schwartz

Love is the threshold of another universe. — Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

The quotes above share a theme. This is where I’ll begin and end this particular message. Before I focus on important astrological events, I want to share my personal journey over the last several months.

At the end of May, I was winding down another school year with a set of students I tutor. My shared living housemate (and dear friend) planned to move in with one of her sons, and I knew I would need to find another place to live. I felt afraid, wondering whether I could find a place I could afford while staying close to my daughters and grandchildren. My family is the main reason I live in Southern California. Dread surfaced quickly, but I realized I could not and would not allow myself to go down the “fear” rabbit hole.

I meditated and prayed for guidance. The result: Emergence Magazine sent me a book titled Remembering Earth, by Emmanuel Vaughan Lee, the founder of the organization. I was engaged with this book within the first couple of pages as the author spoke of remembrance.  What should we remember?  For me, and from the beginning of my reading, it was our sacred covenant with the Earth. It is about remembering our connection with all life, even the inert Earth, which is hardly lifeless. We cannot know our own divinity without understanding the divine in “everything”. Reading passages in this book brought up feelings of love. (To fully understand my response, you may need to read this book as well).

Emmanuel Vaughan Lee is a Sufi Master and speaks to this mystical theology in relation to the world and our awakened consciousness.  As one person shares: “In our times of deep divisions, Emmanuel Vaughan Lee reminds us that we are all weavers, and love is the thread. In this time of loneliness, he offers the embrace of a bountiful and beautiful world – flowing rivers and maple trees in autumn. In a time of unspeakable cruelty, he offers healing. In a time of deep disappointment in humanity, he offers the urgent vision of better selves. In the times of endings, he tells a sweeping new story about a future that is both necessary and possible. These are great gifts. I am filled with gratitude.” – Kathleen Dean Moore, PhD, author of Great Tide Rising and Wild Comfort.

What does this amazing book have to do with my move?  The author’s words connected me to a consciousness that allowed me to go to a place of love, beyond my small world of concerns and fears, to a place where I could step into a future of promise. I found that when I sought the feeling of love and brought this into my actions, magic happened.

I had a tight timeline to move. First, I contacted my first housing community and learned they had an opening. Usually, senior housing communities have waiting lists because their costs are below average. I submitted a ton of paperwork, learned I qualified, and could move into the unit within a month. Packing and finding movers went smoothly. Plus, the people I interacted with were kind and very professional. Finding the money to make this move was a miracle in and of itself. Friends and relatives located or provided resources to help pay for my expenses. This was the most beautiful experience of all.

This brings me to the quotes I included at the beginning of this newsletter. I believe loving relationships make our lives worth living. My personal relationships have been the balm that has brought me happiness and joy. Today, October 10th, I find an astrological correlation with the New Moon in the sign of Libra. The Sun and Moon in Libra speak to relationships. As Stephanie Austin states in her newsletter about the archetype of Libra and our partnerships,

“Relationships can be magical and sometimes maddening, as we wrestle with our differences, projections, and shadow. In Libra, we learn about fairness and equality, consideration and compromise, tact and diplomacy. We realize that being nice has its payoffs, but also its price. Ultimately, we master the dance of partnership, the mutuality of give and take, able to interact authentically without losing ourselves or needing to control others.”

New Moons are the perfect alignment of the Sun and Moon in the same degree, making the Moon’s illumination not visible. This period of darkness offers us an opportunity to reset our intentions or to make affirmations. New beginnings and fresh starts are possible. This is why I ask you to reflect on your personal and professional relationships at this New Moon. What behavioral changes do you need to make? Is there a balance between your needs and another's? Libra represents the “Scales” of justice, balance, and fairness. Another question: how can you bring more harmony into your life?

Beyond today’s astrological event, the world feels fragmented and disoriented. Many structures and institutions we have counted on to support our stability have failed us. I have no doubt that we are in a period of significant change. The question is what will change? Shall humanity continue to degrade and destroy, or shall we awaken to a collective consciousness that creates a new humanity that cares for all living things?  Many of us acknowledge that historically we may be in a second Dark Age. But perhaps things are darkest before the Dawn of a New Age. We need to awaken and become the witness to both the living world and the human world. We are not separate from any of this. Witnessing carries immense power when approached with maturity and presence. “It asks us to say, ‘I see you. I acknowledge what is happening,’” (Vaughan Lee). Witnessing asks us not to be overtaken, caught in the grip of eco-anxiety. Because if we are caught, we are not free. If we are not free, we cannot be of service. Again, I bring to you the plea to Witness through Love. Libra, as ruled by Venus, speaks to the divine feminine and how we do the sacred dance of self and other in relationships. This includes the relationship with the Earth as well.

We are in a major period of reflection, reorientation, and realignment, and we are becoming much more discerning about what deserves our attention, energy, and resources. In times of darkness, we are forced to find the light within. Awakening is not only about becoming more conscious of what is happening around us, but of what is happening within us as well. The more we observe and let things flow through us, the faster we progress and the more we contribute to the tipping point. Watch it all, learn from it, bless it, and let it go. Create space for what’s most important. Be as kind as possible and choose from love rather than fear (Austin).

I believe that bringing people together in loving communities can create a new world. This has given me a sense of purpose as I embrace my elderhood. Despite the destruction and dissolution we see around the world, people connecting in sacred spaces can hold a consciousness that grows an emerging blueprint for our highest future.

What I haven't covered in this newsletter are the powerful astrological events that have occurred since the start of 2026.  I could write newsletters summarizing these events, particularly as they correlate with actual current events. More importantly, I want to share how these astrological transits affected each of you personally. Yet that would be nearly impossible to share in a newsletter.

Many of you reading this message do not necessarily view your life through an astrological lens. Yet, you may see the value of the metaphysical law of “as above, so below.”  I believe our lives are connected to the celestial bodies, not that these dictate our behavior, but that they perhaps influence your perceptions.

Here are links to two astrologers I use as resources for astrological events.  Stephanie Austin, Eco-Astrology, https://www.ecoastrology.com/.     And…. Wizard with Words: https://www.wizard-withwords.com/    This astrologer takes current events around the world and connects them to astrological movements. As a history major in college, I find his weekly newsletter, “Watch Tower,” fascinating for supporting the “as above, so below” concept.

For most of my adult life, I have worked as an educator. Now, semi-retired from public school administration, I work part time as an education consultant.  However, my passion for decades has been my work as a professional astrologer and intuitive advisor.  My love for dialoguing soul-to-soul with people has rewarded me with amazing conversations and discourse.  I feel I have supported countless persons over the years by interpreting their astrology natal chart and also, reading Tarot cards as both serve as tools and methods to provide deep insights into the soul.
